Review of Related Literature According to Wikipedia (2013), academic performance is the outcome of education; it is the extent to which a student, teacher or institution has achieved their educational goals. Thus performance is characterised by performance on tests associated with coursework and the performance of students on other types of examinations (Kyoshaba, 2009). Various studies have been carried out on the factors that affect students’ academic performance or achievement in schools, colleges and universities.
